Graduate Therapy Intern (Not Currently Available)

 

Job Description 

 

This position is not currently open. Therapy Interns provide counseling/psychotherapy services in the practice location under the site supervision of licensed mental health professionals in the practice.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program that can lead, upon graduation, to Tennessee licensure as either a licensed professional counselor-mental health service provider (LPC/MHSP) and/or a licensed marital and family therapist (LMFT).

  • Applicant must be seeking the position to be done in the context of their practicum and/or internship requirements as coordinated through their graduate program.

  • Willingness to engage with, and be led by, the clinic director and other members of the clinic’s leadership team.

  • Willingness to engage and collaborate with other members of the counseling/psychotherapeutic staff of the clinic.

  • Ability to adjust work schedule as required.

  • Must be willing to work some evening hours.

  • Willingness and competency to provide faith-sensitive treatment to clients and to supporting the mission objectives of the clinic (see mission statement here).

 

Preferences:

  • Interest in post-graduate work in an outpatient practice setting.

  • Ability to successfully work with a high degree of independence/autonomy while still actively seeking feedback and formational learning experiences from supervisors and other therapy staff.

 

Pay and Support:

  • Intern will be provided office space, access to an electric health record (EHR) for client scheduling, and other services from the practice.

  • Intern will be paid a disbursement from collected session fees from their counseling/psychotherapy sessions after a deduction to pay for supervisory time.
