Elizabeth is a mental health therapist who provides individual therapy in the Knoxville area or through Telehealth. Seeing her role as a great privilege, Elizabeth seeks to understand each client holistically by considering the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person to assess underlying issues.

Elizabeth has gained valuable clinical experience working in both outpatient and integrated behavioral health settings. Elizabeth has walked alongside adolescents and adults experiencing the impact of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, religious/spiritual issues, codependency, family conflict, grief, self-esteem issues, and other difficulties pertaining to life transitions. Additionally, Elizabeth has a background in working with women experiencing unexpected pregnancies, subsequent life changes, and peripartum mood disorders.

Viewing the stories of others through an attachment-based, family systems approach allows Elizabeth to understand her clients within their social context. Elizabeth utilizes humanistic and existential approaches to therapy, tailoring the therapeutic process to the needs and desires of each individual client. She is passionate about helping others to see their innate goodness and empowering them to make choices that reflect their personal values and goals. Elizabeth believes that emotional expression is powerful and healing, and enjoys using play therapy and expressive art interventions with clients when words do not suffice.

For her undergraduate education, Elizabeth attended Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland, where she received a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Theology. Elizabeth completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy from Lipscomb University. Elizabeth is a pre-licensed therapist in Knoxville, TN, and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee under the supervision of Matt Scheuneman, MA, LPC-MHSP-AS.

Elizabeth was raised in South Carolina prior to moving around the east coast throughout her upbringing. While “home” has been a lot of places, Elizabeth has found comfort and belonging in her faith tradition. Elizabeth was involved with FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) in college and continues to participate in community events and worship. When not at the office, Elizabeth enjoys appreciating the arts, learning new recipes, going on walks, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with her husband, John
