Anna understands life does not always go how we expect it to. She is passionate about helping others make sense of unexpected circumstances and losses. As she journeys alongside individuals and couples processing through unwanted and painful issues, she provides a safe and empathic space. She sees children, adolescents, and adults, having worked with a variety of life stages spanning from age 5 - 70.  She works with those struggling with anxiety, depression, relational problems, and specific issues such as healing from abuse, divorce, and battling chronic illness.

Anna views the counseling relationship as a therapeutic collaboration and is committed to working with her clients toward the wholeness and healing they desire. For deeply rooted issues that feel like they won't budge, as well as in response to traumatic experiences, Anna uses EMDR to help individuals process what can otherwise leave a person feeling stuck. With couples who feel stuck in continuously disappointing and frustrating arguments, she utilizes EFT to move from those old norms toward creating new ones. For children she can provide play therapy. With any age, she utilizes behavioral and narrative approaches founded on attachment-focused principles toward holistic healing for the individual and his or her relationships.

Anna graduated magna cum laude from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Christian Counseling in 2018. In May of 2020, she graduated summa cum laude from Gordon-Conwell with an additional M.A. in Biblical Studies, with focused study on a scriptural understanding of human brokenness and God's overarching redemptive narrative. Before her time in seminary, Anna served in campus ministry for five years, which grew her desire to walk more deeply alongside others in the struggles and pain that often surprises us in life. She is practicing under a temporary license in Professional Counseling in the State of Tennessee, under the supervision of S. David Hall, PsyD, LMFT, LPC-MHSP-AS. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina, where she has practiced starting in 2016.

Anna grew up in between upstate New York, Canada, and the Netherlands. Worldwide travel in the first three decades of her life has left her content and grateful to settle down near family (and the mountains!). She enjoys a variety of hobbies, including dance, classical music, and photography. When she's not in the office, she loves to hike with her husband and soak up as much time outside as possible, rain or shine!
